Frank Cozze Scholarship Information (For Seniors)
Please see the following attachments for the 2019 Frank Cozze Senior Scholarship Program. Priority is given to members (head coach or assistant coach) son or daughters, who have had consecutive membership for 5 years. Seniors Only need apply
Applications are due by March 15, 2019.
Frank Cozze taught and coached baseball at Thomas Worthington High School from 1968 until
his retirement in 1994. Over the years, his teams compiled a record of 427-292, 12 OCC
Championships, 4 District Championships, and one State Title in 1981. Coach Cozze was a
member of the Ohio State 1966 NCAA National Championship Baseball Team and was
inducted into the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, as well as the
Central District Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. He will be remembered for his love
of teaching and coaching, and his passion for America’s greatest pastime, baseball.
Guidelines for Applicants
1.) Graduating Senior with acceptance to an accredited college or technical school.
2.) High School GPA of 3.25 minimum on a 4.00 scale.
3.) Respected by his/her peers and teachers as making a positive contribution to the school and
community. (Two recommendation letters required: Guidance Counselor and Principal)
4.) A member of any varsity sport for a minimum of two years with preference given to a
baseball or softball player.
5.) Any CDBCA Head Coach can nominate one senior student-player, IF there are no coaches
sons or daughters graduating in a given year or that does not meet the application
6.) Preference will be given to the son/daughter of a head coach or an assistant coach who has
been a member of the CDBCA for five consecutive years leading up to the graduation date.
7.) There will be one annual scholarship given, but no more than two scholarships awarded. The
CDBCA Executive Board will determine the recipient(s).
8.) Deadline Date: March 15, 2019

9.) The recipient(s) will receive a $200.00 – $500.00 (depending on the number of applicants
each year) check, which will be presented at the CDBCA All-Star Game on June 11th at OSU.
