On Wednesday at 3:00pm, at Hitting Facility, we will have uniform turn in, exit meetings, and host pizza and drinks for the guys. We will pass out any certificates, awards, etc. We will also collect any catching equipment or let them borrow it for the summer.

Please wash all uniforms and turn them in. Some JV’s have turned in their items already. This meeting will be for all who played. FR thru SR. We will discuss whom you are playing for this summer, this fall, what sports you plan on playing next year, and we will tell you our expectations for you to get better.

We are also planning to make arrangements for Disney 2022. We will plan to take those that make JVA and VAR. Mar. 26th thru April 3rd. We usually stay at Pop Century Resort on Disney grounds, parents usually get accommodations at a close resort near by. We allow the family to be in charge of the travel arrangements.
Some drive, some fly, some hyperspace… Remember, we allow FR to go on Spring Break with their families, the athletes SOPH thru SR year, they will be with us, no exceptions.

The coaching staff is expected to remain intact with the additions of 2-3 more volunteers. We will also work with Coach Stoner on allowing his travels between watching Sammy at OWU and watching his girls at DJ Softball. We are hoping to get Coach C and Coach Seely a position in DCS. We will see how that plays out. It will make it easier on their travel. I need to bring in help for them on both levels, but we only get 3 paid positions in the whole program.

Also, a brief plug about how hard Tom V. and Jeff W. work to make the budgets fall in place. First, it wouldn’t happen without the parents. Our booster groups are becoming more and more of a staple for the kids in our district. We are expected to buy uniforms, equipment, and field related items above and beyond our field rental budget in the summer. It is a daunting task. We try to keep our booster fees below Coffman and Scioto and other groups here at DJHS. At any rate, thank you for helping us with that. Booster fees and the Jimmy Journell restaurant fundraiser are all we do. I will work all summer and fall at the field raising money for the guys in our DCS account, but to go to FL, it will take a village.

We have to get better at the younger levels and we are working on that now. Other issues we are addressing but for all intent and purposes it was a smooth ride this year, other than the COVID accommodations. Appreciate all you did as a parent to work thru this with us. Simply put, we could not do this without you and your support!
