NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced their weekly baseball awards and recognized University of Dayton sophomore Aaron Huesman as the Co-Player of the Week in the conference.

Huesman had a career weekend at the Spartanburg Classic after totaling nine RBI and five hits in nine at-bats. The sophomore designated hitter started the weekend off with a 3-for-6 outing in which he racked up two home runs, including a grand slam, and seven RBI. That total matched the highest single-game RBI total by an individual in 2013 (Stenhouse, Rhode Island).

On Sunday, Huesman followed up his breakout performance with a 2-for-3 outing, driving in Dayton’s only two runs in the contest. He finished the two-game stretch with a .556 batting average and a 1.222 slugging percentage.

Last season as a true freshman, Huesman was named Dayton Baseball’s Newcomer of the Year. This is his first Atlantic 10 accolade.
