Masashi Sakamoto Commits to Akron!

RHP/OF Masashi Sakamoto of Dublin Jerome HS (OH) has just committed to the University of Akron. Sakamoto played for the Ohio Elite this past summer. He will be playing for Coach Rembielak in the MAC. The Zips also carry several Ohio Elite players including former Dublin Scioto graduates Kris Simonton and Austin Mooney.

Sakamoto is Head Coach Chris Huesman’s second player this year to commit to a D1 program. The first being Jason Johnson to the University of Dayton.

Jason Johnson commits to the Univ. of Dayton

Jason Johnson, a senior pitcher, has committed to attend and play baseball for the Atlantic 10 University of Dayton Flyers. Jason will play for Coach Vittorio, recent A10 Champions and College Baseball Regional Qualifiers. Jason joins recent 2012 grad Aaron Huesman as the second Celtic to commit to the Division 1 Flyers.

Detroit Tigers get three Jerome Alumni!

Congrats to three former Celtics! Jason King drafted 4th round by Detroit Tigers , now playing in West Michigan for their high A League! Cory Valentine was named Video Scout for the Tigers and is now stationed in Lakeland Florida for the moment! Austin Molter, our Freshman coach this season and former player for Jerome, was just named Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Connecticut Tigers in low A ball! Congrats Celts!
